Series update…

Lee pitched well enough in Game 5 last night, but nothing dominating like his first start in the Series.  He went 7 and gave up 5, but 3 of those runs were given up in the 8th, and if the Phillies had a more reliable bullpen he wouldn’t have had to start the 8th.  Burnett had a completely different start than his one in game 2.  He gave up 6 runs in 2 innings pitched.

Last night Chase Utley tied Reggie Jackson for the record for most HR in a World Series with 5.  The following at-bat Ryan Howard tied the record for most strikeouts in a World Series with 12.

The series is now 3-2 Yankees.

Game 6 is Wednesday night in New York.  Pedro vs. Pettitte.  Pettitte is going on 3 days rest.
